The Quapaw Baths And Spa
The Quapaw Baths and Spa is regularly ranked in the top two or three of the best Hot Springs spas.
It is located in one of the old bathhouses on Bathhouse Row and provides modern spa luxury in a beautiful historic setting.
There are lovely public baths so this can be a fun place to go with a group. Obviously bathing suits are required in these areas. You can actually go to take a soak in the mineral waters in the public baths without a reservation, but do be aware that there can be a wait for them.
You can also make a reservation for different types of couples or private baths some of which include Microsilk hydrotherapy, mineral baths, or aromatherapy baths. There are also a variety of massages and facials.

Get Prepared To Be Pampered:
To ensure you receive the best experience, here is what you can expect during a traditional bath regimen:
- Sign in and secure any valuables in the security box provided.
- Upon entering the dressing room, a personal attendant will help you into a bathrobe and assist you with your bathing needs.
- You will be offered a cup of pure mineral water to drink to prepare your body for the 100-degree bath.
- Your bath will last approximately 20 minutes, during which your personal attendant will check in with you to ensure your comfort.
- Afterward, you may choose from a sitz bath to focus the therapeutic effects on your lower body, or the steam cabinet for all-over soothing.
- Hot packs may be administered to any particularly achy areas of your body, per your request.
- A refreshing, cool water shower concludes the bathing experience then you may prepare for your full-body Swedish massage.
- When you are finished with your spa treatment, you will be escorted back to the dressing room.
- You will leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Soaking At Ojo Caliente
Ojo Caliente boasts five public soaking pools, one semi-private pool, and private outdoor pools that can be booked in advance. The hot springs are powered by the underground geothermal activity in the region, and the mineral waters are said to have therapeutic powers. Public pools include the Lithia Spring, Iron Spring, Soda Spring, Arsenic Spring, and the Mud Pool.
If you choose to stay overnight at Ojo in the Plaza, Pueblo, or Cliffside Suites, the Kiva pool is another soaking pool available to overnight guests in these suites. We particularly recommend the Cliffside Suites, which back up against the mountains and feature private outdoor mineral soaking tubs and kiva fireplaces – the perfect place to pour a glass of wine and soak in the open air under the New Mexico stars.

The Buckstaff Bathhouse in Hot Springs, Arkansas has been in continuous operation since 1912 still today offers you the opportunity to experience a traditional type therapy that has helped make Hot Springs world-renowned. Located on Bathhouse Row, Buckstaff provides a traditional hydro therapy program as developed by local physicians for the relief of arthritic type conditions, stress and just plain relaxation, allowing for maximum benefit from the natural waters at a level safe for most visitors. Some age and health restrictions may apply. Persons with active heart conditions, high blood pressure, open sores, recent surgery or with advice of your personal physician are advised against bathing. Persons wishing to take the baths and massages must be capable of being left alone in a private tub and through out the bathing process. Small children receive the same therapy as adults and must be able to go through the process alone. Our regulations only allow one person per tub.

There are two bathhouses where you can indulge in this age-old tradition and they offer two very different experiences.
The Buckstaff Bathhouse, which has operated continuously since it opened in 1912, offers traditional baths similar to those that were taken at the height of the bathing industry in Hot Springs. People coming here, theyre not wanting to go to a day spa, said Buckstaff CEO Michael Branch. Theyre wanting the history and thats what were trying to preserve, the historic aspect of bathing.
The park has made great use of the remaining bathhouses, leasing them out for alternative uses, such as a brewery , a boutique hotel and a gift shop, where you can purchase glass jugs to fill up some of that spring water to take back home.
