National Board Of Certification For Animal Acupressure And Massage

Why Take This Examination

Canine Massage Certification Course Overview

I asked Karen Shaw, one of the practitioners who have been certified so far, why she decided to take the test, and she said I decided to take the exam because in this day and age the more certified you can get the better. In my opinion, people want that. If they were choosing between someone who has certification and someone who doesnt, there is more of a chance they would choose the higher level of certification person. Especially if that person has continued to deepen their skills and knowledge and is more than just book read. Also, having this certification adds to the qualifications and courage it takes to market myself in the world.

Other Tallgrass courses meeting the Washington State requirements include Hands-On Health & amp Pathology for a total of 28 hours, Business Practice Course for 10 hours and Acupoint Energetics & amp Landmark Anatomy for 15 hours. These courses have received rigorous review by the Board of Health of Washington State. For further details regarding the apportionment of hours, please contact:

Nancy Zidonis, Co-Founder of Tallgrass, comments: We applaud Washington State for their extraordinary efforts in setting high standards and specific requirements for animal massage practitioners to become certified and able to practice in their state. We hope this is a model for the rest of the nation. The public needs to be able to trust that their animals receive only qualified massage services.

Why Does Your Program Consist Of Multiple 2 And 3 Day Hands

  • Doing so enables our students to attend without having to take a large period off from their regular jobs.
  • Multiple, shorter courses and workshops make self-paced study easier to manage.
  • The spreading out of study over a longer period enables solid integration of new information.
  • Shorter courses actually give us more time to cover each concept fully and allow us more opportunities for hands-on work with live dogs.
  • The cost of the entire program can be spread out over time rather than paid in one or two large chunks.

What Our Clients Are Saying

Dont just take it from us, let our clients do the talking!

Throughout my acquaintance with AJ, I can honestly attest to the qualities that I, as a retired school administrator, admire: forthrightness, timeliness, a desire to learn and to grow in ones profession, and a kindly and patient manner with both animals and his associates. AJ recently administered an hour- long massage to Lily. In order to be successful, he had to gain her trust, which he very soon accomplished. He was ascertaining any apparent tightness in her joints and ligaments. She allowed him to do as he pleased with her, and his love, expertise and patience were very self-evident it was very interesting to observe.

Watching age catch up with Taj, my best friend, has been hard on both of us. Taj, in his prime, was a mid air snagging frisbee rock star and the best trail dog a girl could ever want. On occasion, since he turned 10, his back will spasm and he requires medicine and a few days of house rest. Now at 12, Tajs muscles and joints are sore more often than not. That is where AJ comes in, he is able to quickly assess Tajs problem areas and provides relief that has a visible impact days after treatment. AJs patient and gentle manner had Taj relaxed in no time.

Becoming An Animal Massage Therapist

Animal Massage Therapists use hands-on techniques and apply the knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology to improve the physical well being of animals ranging from pet animals to sports animals. Most of these professionals are specialized by certain species such as dog, cat, horse etc, while others work on a mix of large and small animals. They ensure to heal injuries, improve muscle function, promote relaxation, boost the immune system, increase circulation and enhance range of motion in the animal-bodys tissues.

They evaluate their animal clients to locate painful or tense areas of their body. They design and develop necessary treatment plans based on the individual animals needs. They may apply medicated liquid on the skin while performing hands-on manipulation of muscle to provide relief to the animals. They also perform physical exercises to animals for better health. In some cases, they may refer their animal- clients to veterinarians or other health care professionals for diagnosis and treatment.
